How to navigate under bridges and through locks


Are you going to buy a motor yacht in Limburg? Then why not take an immediate boating trip across the waterways of Limburg? Will you encounter bridges and locks? Then please note a number of rules.

Maasroute
Are you for example cruising from Belfeld to Maastricht? Then you will pass through several bridges and locks in northern, central and southern Limburg. Many of the locks in Limburg are operated from a control center in Maasbracht.

Passing bridges and locks
A number of rules apply when passing under bridges and through locks. For example, commercial shipping has the right of way over pleasure craft. Do not push ahead, wait for your turn and attach fenders to your motor yacht if necessary. Moor your yacht and pay close attention to the traffic lights. When the lights are green and red, you can almost continue to cruise. Then join other vessels and navigate on the starboard side. The Purchase Process: How Does It Work?

If you are working with a yacht broker for the first time, it’s helpful to understand how the purchase process works and what you can expect from us.

Orientation and Making an Offer

Do you have a yacht in mind? You can schedule a viewing without obligation to determine if the yacht meets your expectations. A technical inspection is not necessary at this stage. 

Based on your impression, you can make an offer. We act as an intermediary and negotiate on your behalf with the yacht's owner.

Price Agreement and Purchase Agreement

Once we have agreed on the price, we will draw up a purchase agreement. This usually includes a clause making the purchase subject to a survey by an expert. 

When signing the agreement, we request a 10% deposit. This amount will be held in a secure third-party escrow account.

Survey and Finalization

An expert will carry out a comprehensive survey of the yacht. If any issues are found, the seller will resolve them or compensation will be offered if you prefer to handle the repairs yourself. 

If the issues are too significant, you can cancel the purchase.

Final Payment and Delivery

Once the issues are resolved and you are satisfied, you pay the remaining 90%. This amount will also be securely held in the third-party escrow account. Once you confirm that the yacht meets your expectations, you will sign the delivery document. 

Only then will the funds be released to the seller, and we will schedule the official handover.

Handover and Transfer

Together, we will carefully review all documentation so you know exactly what you are purchasing. We will also inspect the yacht to ensure all issues have been addressed. Of course, we will provide you with explanations on the onboard equipment and key systems. 

Once everything is clear and meets your satisfaction, we will officially hand over the keys and your new boating adventure can begin.
